Graduate Students in Ancient History

at The Ohio State University

Graduate students come from a wide variety of undergraduate institutions. They all have a strong background in languages and most of them have completed 2-3 years of Greek and Latin before they begin their graduate training. In addition, all of them continue to study languages, along with their regular history courses. This makes for a very busy schedule and all too little free time. Most of the ancient history graduate students socialize with each other, and there are opportunities to meet informally with the ancient history faculty.

At the beginning of each academic year we have a barbeque.

In addition, ancient history faculty occasionally invite students to their homes.
