Sanja Kadric entered the Ph.D. program at The Ohio State University upon receiving a B.A. in History with minors in Medieval Studies and Women Studies from Seattle University in Seattle, Washington in 2009. Her general research interests include Islamic History, Eastern European History and Women’s History. Her current research centers on Bosnia as a province of the Ottoman Empire, Janissaries and the devşirme, and interactions between the ethnic, national and cultural groups residing in Bosnia since the Ottoman period. She is also greatly interested in the relationship between Bosnia and Turkey in this context. A native of Zenica, Bosna i Hercegovina, Sanja is currently greatly enjoying studying Turkish and Arabic.
