Jean O'Brien

Jean M. O'Brien is Professor of History at the University of Minnesota. O’Brien is the author of many books, including Dispossession by Degrees: Indian Land and Identity in Natick, Massachusetts, 1650-1790 and Firsting and Lasting: Writing Indians out of Existence in New England and the recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award in American Indian History, Western History Association, 2014 and the McKnight Distinguished University Professor Award, 2015.
