Graduate Student Call for Papers

The Ohio Seminar in Early American History and Culture, hosted at the Ohio State University in Columbus, provides a forum for scholars examining topics in early American history broadly conceived.   While many of our workshops feature distinguished faculty, we also seek to host talented graduate students working on innovative projects.

We invite proposals from graduate students for our 2015-2016 session.  Papers are pre-circulated.  We are especially interested in works-in-progress that will benefit from discussion.  Seminars will be followed by a social dinner.  While the Ohio Seminar does not provide travel funds for graduate students, we will provide hotel accommodations and dinner for presenters.

To propose a paper, please submit a one-page abstract, a brief statement explaining the paper’s relationship to your other work (e.g., dissertation), and a C.V. via email to John Brooke (brooke.10@osu.edu).

Please contact Kevin Vrevich (vrevich.1@osu.edu), John Brooke (brooke.10@osu.edu) or any member of the steering committee with questions.
