Day 1: Tuesday, 17 May 2016; Palermo
Travelers arrive in Palermo at various times.
Transfer to hotel via:
Two nights accommodation at Hotel NH Palermo. Breakfast included.
Introductions of Tour Manager and Professors Peter Hahn and Peter Mansoor.
Group Dinner.
Day 2: Wednesday, 18 May 2016; Palermo and Gela
Landing beaches at Gela; Patton's overland route to Palermo.
Day 3: Thursday, 19 May 2016; Sicily
Coach transportation from Palermo to Troina and Messina.
Check-in for 1 night accommodation at Hotel Royal Palace Messina. Breakfast included.
Day 4: Friday, 20 May 2016; Messina and Salerno
Return to Palermo for flight to Naples and coach to Salerno.
Check-in for 2 nights accommodation at Hotel Raito, Vietri sul Mare. Buffet breakfast.
Day 5: Saturday, 21 May 2016; Salerno and Pompeii
Visit beaches and area where German counterattack took place. Visit Pomeii.
Group dinner at Il Principe.
Day 6: Sunday, 22 May 2016; Salerno, travel to Rome
Visit Monte Cassino Abbey and battlefield.
Check-in for 1 night accommodation at Hotel NH Roma Leonardo Da Vinci. Breakfast included.
Day 7: Monday, 23 May 2016; Rome and Florence
Visit Florence American Cemetery and Memorial.
Check-in for 1 night accommodation at Hotel Albani Firenze. Buffet breakfast.
Day 8: Tuesday, 24 May 2016; Florence and Porretta Terme
Coach transportation to Porretta Terme to visit Mount Belvedere, site of 10th Mountain Division combat.
Check-in for 2 nights accommodation at Hotel Villa Cappugi. Breakfast included.
Day 9: Wednesday, 25 May 2016; Porretta Terme
Visit Iola and Hill 775.
Group lunch at Locanda del Cavaliere.
Day 10: Thursday, 26 May 2016; Porretta Terme and Sirmione
Coach transporation to Sirmione. Spend the day exploring.
Overnight at 4-Star Hotel in Sirmione
Day 11: Friday, 27 May 2016; Sirmione
Lake Garda boat cruise.
Farewell group dinner at La Speranzina.
Overnight at 4-Star Hotel in Sirmione
Day 12: Saturday, 28 May 2016; Sirmione and Milan
Coach transportation to Malpensa International Airport. Travel home on your own.
Fees
$5,000 per person double occupancy; $6,000 for single traveler. Airfare to Palermo and from Milan excluded.
These fees include a charitable donation of $1,000 per traveler to our endowment fund dedicated to subsidizing the costs of the undergraduate study abroad program.
