Congratulations to Ohio State history alum Mark Boonshoft whose recent book, "Aristocratic Education and the Making of the American Republic," published in 2020 by the University of North Carolina, has been named one of seven finalists for the 2021 George Washington Prize, sponsored by Washington College, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, and George Washington’s Mount Vernon.  For details, see https://www.mountvernon.org/library/george-washington-prize/2021/

Mark Boonshoft earned his Ph.D. in History at Ohio State in 2015, and after a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the New York Public Library has taught at Norwich and Duquesne Universities.  He started as the full-time directorship of the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies in July.
