Department of History Textbook Policy

Higher Education Opportunity Act 2008 Textbook Deadline Memo [pdf]

  1. Instructors (including Faculty, Lecturers, and Small Section Leaders) should place their own textbook orders online. Orders may be placed with Barnes & Noble OSU through Adoption & Insights Portal (AIP). It is integrated into buckeyelink and may be found by clicking on Faculty/Staff (Logins and Resources), and then Barnes & Noble (AIP) orders. A demo video is here. A training guide for how to use AIP is here:

  2. The Department of History does not endorse any one bookstore, but instructors may elect to place book orders with one store or to share them among many stores.

  3. Early each semester a staff member will send an e-mail to all instructors indicating textbook ordering deadlines and providing a link to the ordering site. They will also send periodic reminders to instructors who do not submit copies of book orders.

  4. DESK COPIES: Jen Getson (Getson.3@osu.edu)  will order desk copies. If you need desk copies, send an email to Jen indicating the course number, author, title, publisher, edition, ISBN and the number of desk copies needed. Place this order no later that one month before the start of the semester. Jen will send you an e-mail confirming they have ordered the desk copies.
