Warren Van Tine

Warren R. Van Tine; B.A., Baldwin-Wallace College, 1965; M.A., Northern Illinois University, 1967; Ph.D., University of Massachusetts- Amherst, 1972.

A specialist in American working-class history, Ohio history and African-American history, Professor Van Tine is the author of The Making of the Labor Bureaucrat (1973), coauthor of John L. Lewis: A Biography (1977), co-editor of Labor Leaders in America (1987), senior author of In the Workers' Interest: A History of the Ohio AFL-CIO, 1958-1998 (1998), and co-editor of Builders of Ohio: A Biographical History (2003). Dr. Van Tine has been a Fulbright professor in Australia (1978), Chairperson of the Department of History (1985-89), Chair of the Center for Labor Research (1989-2002)and co-editor of H-Ohio (1995-2004).
