Join the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and honored guest from the Eastern Shawnee and Absentee Shawnee tribes as we celebrate history, culture, and community at the Great Council State Park Heritage Celebration, an America 250-Ohio premiere event, taking place June 6, 2026 at Great Council State Park.
Immerse yourself in the rich history of Ohio through the eyes of Daniel Boone and the stories of Robert Alvin Crum, living historian and descendant of Daniel Boone. See how Ohio was forged with traditional blacksmithing demonstrations. See early Ohio settlers and learn how they lived.
Meet award winning author Peter Cozzens and join him for a book signing and comments on his critically acclaimed book Tecumseh and the Prophet.
Other activities will include interpretive center tours, traditional artisans, community partners, food trucks, and more.
