Undergraduate Research (including Research Assistantships)

The Department of History encourages undergraduates to engage in research, either by means of a short-term independent project or completion of a thesis leading to research distinction. Many internships in history also involve significant research in real-world settings.

Interested in working directly with a history faculty member on her or his research project? The Department of History maintains a list of research assistantship opportunities, each of which yields between one and three semester hours of credit for History 3193, depending upon the time commitment.

"Studying history enriches my life daily and makes me a more compassionate and understanding human. I am currently working on a research paper and have been having SO much fun searching through digital archives and working with primary sources," - Carrie Esker, History Major
