The Department of History offers specialized seminars and workshops in many areas of history.
- Center for Historical Research Seminars - 2020 through 2021 the CHR will continue its two series:
- Crisis, Uncertainty, and History: Trajectories and Experiences of Accelerated Change
- 1619 and Beyond: Explorations in Atlantic Slavery and its American Legacy
- The Ohio Seminar in Early American History and Culture, a forum for scholars examining topics in early American history
- The Premodernist Group (PMG) at Ohio State is a forum where specialists in pre-modern and non-western experiences come together to consider matters of common concern.
- Seminar in Russian, East European, and Eurasian History - a forum where scholars may present drafts of book chapters, dissertation chapters, articles, or other work-in-progress.
- Women's, Gender, and Sexuality History Workshop - provides a space where ground-breaking original research can be shared, discussed, and critiqued.
- Race, Ethnicity, and Nation Seminar - examines the relationship between the concepts of race, ethnicity, and nation in a variety of geographical and chronological contexts.
