U.S. Premiere of "Becoming Frida Kahlo"
History Professor Stephanie Smith appears as a scholar and contributor in the three-part BBC documentary, "Becoming Frida Kahlo," which premieres in the U.S. via PBS on September 19th. It continues on September 26th and October 3rd. Filmed over eight hours in April 2022, Smith provides the historical context for the life and art of Kahlo, and is featured in parts 1 and 3 of the documentary. It is described as, "A look into Frida Kahlo's world, revealing an artist driven by politics, power, sex and identity, with her epic love affair with Diego Rivera at the heart of it all."
