Osman Kocabal is a Ph.D. student in Islamic History particularly focusing on Late Ottoman History. He completed his B.A. in İstanbul Bilgi University with History major and pursued his M.A. in Central European University in Vienna, majoring on Comparative History after working at İstanbul Research Institute as a Project Assistant. His focus is on historiography and intellectuality in Late Ottoman Period. He is particularly interested in morality and it's relation with historiography during the nation building in Ottoman Empire.
