HISTORY 2705: The History of Medicine in Western Society

Explores the changing intellectual, economic, institutional and cultural relationships that have characterized medicine in the Western world from antiquity to the present, and examines individual roles and trends in the education of practitioners, locations of healing, and expectations that people had of medicine as ideas about the body and illness shifted. Prereq or concur: English 1110.xx, or permission of instructor. GE historical study course.
