On June 21, the Supreme Court ruled 8-1 in the United States v. Rahimi that the historical record supported a federal law barring those under restraining orders in domestic-violence cases from possessing guns. History Prof. Randy Roth's research was cited by Justice Sotomayor in her concurring opinion in the Rahimi case. He will also be testifying on June 27th in Federal District Court in New Mexico in support of waiting period laws for gun purchasing.
