Professor Stephanie Smith appears as a scholar and contributor in the three-part BBC documentary, "Becoming Frida Kahlo," which premiered on Friday, March 10. Filmed over eight hours last April, Smith provides the historical context for the life and art of Kahlo, and is featured in parts 1 and 3 of the documentary. The series is currently only available via the BBC. It is described as, "A look into Frida Kahlo's world, revealing an artist driven by politics, power, sex and identity, with her epic love affair with Diego Rivera at the heart of it all."
