Ousman Kobo Receives Ratner Distinguished Teaching Award

Congratulations to Professor Ousman Kobo on receiving the Ratner Distinguished Teaching Award. The Ratner Awards recognize Ohio State University faculty who demonstrate creative teaching and extraordinary records of engaging, motivating and inspiring students. Each Ratner Award winner receives a $10,000 cash prize, as well as a $15,000 teaching account to fund future projects. Professor Kobo's project is entitled, "Living in History" and includes the creation of interactive GIS historical maps of Africa which will enhance student engagement.

Professor Kobo is the 6th history department faculty member to receive the award. Past winners include David Hoffmann (2020), Theodora Dragostinova (2019), Robin Judd (2019), Mytheli Sreenivas (2017), and Alison Beach (2017).
