Congratulations to Yeliz Cavus who successfully defended her dissertation, “Crafting History Between Empire and Nation: Discourses, Practices, and Networks of Modern History Writing in the Late Ottoman Empire and the Early Turkish Republic, 1840s-1930s.” Jane Hathaway (History) and Morgan Liu (NELC and Anthropology) served as her co-advisors. Committee members were Scott Levi (History) and Sandra MacPherson (English) who served as the graduate school representative. Yeliz will be moving to Loyola University in Maryland, where she has a visiting assistant professorship. Well done, Yeliz!
